The Macedon Ranges Sustainable Living Festival (MRSLF) has grown to be a popular and important regional event. In 2017 MRSLF attracted strong support from businesses, community groups, and government representatives.  The festival is now in its 9th year and showcases ideas, products, and practical solutions to inspire and inform visitors so they can enjoy living more sustainably.

The 2017 MRSLF was well supported by the MRSC and state government representatives. This includes the Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas MP, and Simon Corbell, the Victorian Government’s Renewable Energy Advocate, who was a key speaker on the Victorian Renewable Energy Targets (VRET) and its potential impacts on the renewable energy sector in our region.

The MRSLF is now run in conjunction with the Woodend Community Farmers’ Market, another established initiative of the MRSG. The 2017 festival was the first time the two events were held in conjunction, and this format proved to be highly successful for stakeholders across both programs. The event showcases local and regional ‘green’ businesses and social enterprises; along with local community groups and spokespeople who are working toward sustainable outcomes for the Macedon Ranges community and the wider region.

Work on the 2018 Festival has already commenced and interested exhibitors or volunteers are asked to register their interest with the Sharon via email or call 0487 444 090.
